I don't know about a comment regarding how Miranda should look at Andrea specifically, but I do recall an interview segment where I think the director was talking about Miranda and how cold she was in the book, but how Meryl knew instinctively that the character should be seductive in her moves, looks and voice.

I'd have to watch the special features to get the exact quote though, I think I only watched it once.
